휴먼 테크놀로지 선도대학 글로벌사이버대학교(총장 이승헌) 미디어콘텐츠창작학과가 26일 ‘준비된 창업으로 인생 체인지 업(UP)’ 온라인 졸업생 멘토 특강을 개최했다.
연사를 맡은 오남열 씽크어바웃 컴퍼니 대표는 글로벌사이버대학교 미디어콘텐츠창작학과의 졸업생으로, 기업 팀 대상의 창업 멘토링을 400회 이상 진행한 스타트업계의 베테랑이다.
오 대표는 창업을 위한 3대 조건으로 △고객의 불편을 이해하는 번뜩이는 아이디어 △기술 보유를 통한 전문성 발휘 △오랜 기간 지치지 않고 즐기면서 할 수 있는 일을 꼽았다. 그는 “왜 창업을 하려고 하는지 진지한 고민과 심층적인 준비가 필요하다”며 “준비 부족이 실패의 주된 원인”이라고 강조했다.
창업 시장에서는 오랫동안 한 분야에서 일한 경험이 있는 사람이 해당 분야에 대한 깊이 있는 이해를 바탕으로 창업했을 때 성공할 확률이 2배 이상 높은 것으로 알려졌다. 40·50대 창업자의 생존율이 가장 높은 것도 이 때문이다.
오 대표는 “앞으로 글로벌사이버대학교 졸업생들이 외부 환경 변화에 민감하게 대응하면서도 기회를 놓치지 않는 혁신적 사고와 행동을 통해 시장에서 새로운 가치를 창조할 수 있도록 지속적인 멘토링을 이어갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
